Senior Communications Strategist
Brooke works with faculty and university leaders to author or co-author op-eds, white papers, essays, and other communications that focus on timely issues and innovative research emerging from the University of Florida. Brooke joined UF from the University of Utah, where she was the executive communication manager for the president. Brooke’s career includes serving as the public information officer for the Utah Department of Corrections and nearly 30 years as a newspaper reporter and editor at The Salt Lake Tribune, Deseret News, and The Salt Lake Observer, writing on a wide range of topics. She also taught journalism courses at the University of Utah as an adjunct faculty member. Brooke is a three-time alum of the University of Utah, with a bachelor’s degree in communication, a master’s in human development and social policy, and a newly earned bachelor’s in ethnic studies.
Brooke is a fan of women’s soccer, loves to garden, and visit the beach. She is learning to knit.
