Associate Director of Learning, Development and Integration
Florida leads the University of Florida’s campus communications outreach through UF’s Communicators Network, comprised of campus communicators and marketers, each representing UF’s colleges, units, centers and institutes. Her work includes the creation and leadership of lead-communicator onboarding, professional development efforts, and faculty engagement initiatives, including SCM Faculty Roadshows, Roundtables, Office Hours and new-faculty webinars. Florida also serves on UF’s crisis response team.
A former 911 reporter, columnist and web producer for the Gainesville Sun, Florida is a double Gator with more than 20 years of experience in strategic communications and public relations. Accredited in Public Relations (APR), she is a member of the Florida Public Relations Association and serves on executive boards for charitable and educational organizations, advancing initiatives that improve the quality of life across the greater community. Her collaborative leadership and service have earned her multiple awards and professional recognition. She has also served as an adjunct instructor at UF’s College of Journalism and Communications, teaching the senior capstone course, PR Campaigns.
Florida and her husband, Roy, a barber and business owner, are proud members of a multi-generational family of Gators, including their daughter, a recent UF graduate, and their son, a UF freshman.
