Assistant Vice President for Constituent Knowledge and Insights
Dr. Alain-Bernard Pompilus is the Assistant Vice President for Constituent Knowledge and Insights at the University of Florida, where he leads enterprise market research efforts to better understand and engage key university constituencies, including prospective students and parents, current students, and alumni. His work focuses on using research, data, and strategic analysis to deepen the university’s understanding of its audiences and strengthen how institutions respond to the needs and expectations of their communities.
Prior to joining UF, Dr. Pompilus built and led research and analytics teams in the private sector. While at Scholastic Inc., an education and publishing company, he created an enterprise research and customer insight’s function that supported senior leadership with large-scale studies and measurement frameworks such as Net Promoter Score and customer experience analytics. He designed the program to integrate cultural context, emotional drivers, and behavioral patterns to develop customer personas and predictive models that informed strategy across the organization. His career spans more than 20 years and includes leadership roles in analytics, finance, strategy, and operations across multiple industries.
Dr. Pompilus holds a Ph.D. in Developmental Economics and Social-Cultural Studies from the University of Southern Mississippi and both an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Central Florida. His research has been presented at international academic conferences and explores how human capital, diaspora networks, and social dynamics shape development outcomes and institutional strategy.
Through his work at the intersection of research, analytics, and culture, Dr. Pompilus focuses on how universities can use data not just to measure performance but to better understand people, strengthening relevance, engagement, and impact in higher education.
