Media and Content Strategist
Cynthia writes stories about the amazing happenings at UF while assisting reporters and connecting them with experts that will help them tell their stories.
In her previous position, she served as a public information officer at one of South Carolina’s largest law enforcement agencies, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department. Prior to that role, Cynthia was a reporter for nearly 10 years, working at The Palm Beach Post and The News-Press, in addition to two newspapers in South Carolina where she primarily covered state government and politics.
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Cynthia moved to Florida to pursue a degree in journalism at the University of South Florida. Though she is a transplant, she considers the Sunshine State — and all of its quirky glory — home.
During her off time, she loves to bake and decorate cakes, play video games, and train in different forms of martial arts. Of course, those hobbies come second to her husband and the toddler who rules her world.
