Graphic Designer
Micaela, also known as “Quela” (pronounced “Kella”... similar to “Kayla”... but with more “ella” and less “ayla”), happily spends her days designing graphics and illustrations for the Office of Strategic Communications and Marketing. In this position, she collaborates with other designers, copywriters, and marketing specialists to ensure the University’s brand is visually represented in the best way possible. Quela grew up on the Delaware coast, and moved to sunny Florida to finish her degrees in Emerging Media - Graphic Design (B.F.A.) and Legal Studies (B.A.) at the University of Central Florida (UCF). Before joining the UF team, Quela worked as a graphic designer for the UCF College of Graduate Studies; there, she created a range of print and digital materials for both the college and the Office of Research. As a designer, Quela enjoys developing exciting brand elements and promotional materials; her favorite projects are ones with just-enough challenges, where she can explore innovative solutions. In her free time, Quela can be found sampling coffees from local shops, streaming crime dramas, and tending to her ever-growing houseplant collection.
