Renee is the associate director of communications and marketing for the Artificial Intelligence Academic Initiative Center. She is an award-winning communicator, the recipient of more than a dozen CASE Awards (Council for the Advancement and Support of Education) in her 27-year tenure at UF. Before relocating on campus to assist in communicating UF’s commitment to building an AI University, Renee managed a comprehensive marketing and communications program to recruit, enroll and retain UF students via the Division of Enrollment Management. She also has served as editor of the UF undergraduate academic catalog, editor of Florida Physician magazine, as well as alumni director for the UF College of Medicine.

Renee has an undergraduate degree in journalism from the University of Georgia and a master’s in mass communications from the University of South Florida, where she served as an adjunct lecturer in mass comm. Prior to relocating to Florida for graduate school, she served 10 years as public relations director for the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Renee and her husband, Scott, are parents of two UF graduates.

When not working, Renee enjoys walking the family’s standard poodle, Oliver, and international travel.
